Detailed itinerary for the 7 Days Uganda Primates Tour
Day1: transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable national park
The 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari will commence with a pick up from Entebbe /Kampala in the early morning and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park after your briefing from your guide about the whole safari.
Bwindi impenetrable national park is situated in western Uganda and is famously known for its incredible mountain gorillas that attract many visitors to this part of the country. Bwindi has the highest number of mountain gorillas from the rest of the parks where they are found.
You will have lunch enrounte as you proceed to your destination as there are various allures to look at as you transfer to the west starting from the landscape of the area. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After an early morning breakfast depart from your lodge to meet the game ranger at the briefing grounds for more information about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.
Only 8 members per group are permitted to participate in gorilla trekking as they spend one hour in the presence of gorillas though the time taken while doing gorilla trekking is not known because some find the gorillas first while others don’t thus not getting the accurate time spent while doing gorilla trekking.
Therefore a packed lunch is advisable to be carried. After gorilla trekking you can opt to go and visit the indigenous tribe the Batwa who where the first inhabitants of the forest as you listen to their different stories and learn more about their life style. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the 3rd day of our 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari, you will transfer from Bwindi to Uganda’s 2nd largest national park, queen Elizabeth national park with a size of 1,978km² located in the western Uganda and founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park, and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II. On your safari you will get a chance to visit this renowned park. Diner and overnight stay

Day 4: Chimp Trekking and Boat Cruise
Chimp tracking in Queen Elizabeth national park is done in Kyambura gorge known as the valley of apes. For your chimp tracking experience, you have to wake up early morning and meet the game ranger for briefing then proceed into the forest as you begin tracking these amazing primates just close to humans.
Only 6 people in a group are permitted to trekking these chimpanzees and only strictly 1 hour is given to them while with these primates. Take a lunch break and after head out for an experiential boat cruise as you feel the cool breeze and view the various water animals and numerous bird species on the Kazinga channel as you cruise. Day 5: Early morning game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Queen Elizabeth national park is known for its large numbers of wildlife thus giving you an opportunity to partake a game drive as you view the different wildlife found within the park.
On your game drive with in the park, you need to wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and then meet up with your guide who will drive you around the park.
After your game drive, head back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare to transfer to Kibale national park. It is located in Kyenojo district and was gazetted in 1932 and formally established in 1993 to protect a large area of forest previously managed as a logged forest reserve .dinner and overnight stay

Day 6: Chimp Habitation
Chimp habituation is the processes of making wild primates get used to having human beings around and preparing them to be tracked later on. On your 6th day, you will be going Chimpanzee habituating; you will start off with an early morning breakfast, get your lunch packed and head out to meet your guide that will lead you into the forest.
Only a maximum of 4 people per group inclusive of the researchers and guides are permitted to go see these Chimps. You are then taken to see the place where the primates built their nests the previous night. If you wake up early, you are sure to find them just getting up.
Thus an emblematic Chimpanzee habituation begins in the hours at dawn between 6-6:30 am. Other activities you will see them taking part in are copulating, breastfeeding for the little ones, feeding, patrolling, hunting, resting and later on at around 7 pm, building new nests where they are to stay during the night. Head back to your lodge dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Return to Kampala with a stopover at the equator
On your last day, you will check out of your lodge and set off to Kampala with a stopover at the equator to take pictures and perform some experiments, then embark on your journey to Kampala for your return flight.

Guidelines gorilla trekking
Before you set out
- Don’t visit the gorillas if you have a cold or other infectious illness.
- Human waste should be covered 30cm (12) deep
- Maximum number of tourists is eight persons per gorilla group
When you are with the gorillas
- retain a 7m (21ft) distance from the gorilla
- Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed on the tour.
- If you must sneeze or cough cover your face and turn away from the gorillas, as they can get infected with the coughs and colds from humans.
- Visits are restricted to one hour per gorilla group per day.
- Don’t use flash photography
Guidelines for chimp tracking on your 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari
- Don’t visit them when you are sick as they may catch diseases
- Do not litter the forest
- Human waste should be buried 30cm deep along with the toilet paper and ease yourself off the trail.
- Keep a distance of at least 8meters (25feet) from the chimps
- Do not mimic chimps’ vocalization as you may not know what you are saying
- Do not eat near the chimps
- Do not chase the chimps
- Do not use flash photography
